Insurance Coverage
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW):
It is included in your rental amount.
Collision damage waiver reduces the customer’s damage responsibility to the
excess/deductible amount.
The excess amount for CDW depends on the vehicle groups:
The maximum excess amount for compact,
intermediate, full-size elite, standard, and special vehicle groups is USD 1800.
The maximum excess amount for full-size and luxury vehicle groups is USD 2000.
Third-Party Liability (TPL):
It is included in your rental amount.
Insurance coverage for the vehicle rented includes Third Party Liability with a limited cover of 20% of the total value of the other car, other property, or other person.
Transferable Insurance Coverage
The following insurance type(s) Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI), Collision Damage Waiver (CDW), Theft Waiver (THW), and Third Party Liability (TPL) is (are) not included in the rental amount.
Insurance is accepted only if issued in the following country (ies): USA, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, and Canada.
In order to use the renter's own insurance, he/she must provide proof of CDW and TPL coverage in his/her own name, issued by one of the following companies:
State Farm, Liberty Mutual, Geico, All State, Infinity, Progressive, USAA,
Nationwide, e-surance, and Farmers.
If the customer's Third Party Liability (TPL) coverage is not enough, then he/she must purchase it at the rental. Third-Party Liability (TPL) cannot be declined, it is mandatory in Costa Rica.
If the customer has CDW Coverage in his/her credit card insurance, then he/she should have coverage for the total value of the vehicle.
Acceptable proof of insurance must include Benefit card letter on the main driver's name and must be valid for at least 30 days from the pick-up.
If you do not comply with the insurance requirements listed above OR your self-Insurance/Credit card insurance is not from the above-mentioned companies,
it is mandatory to purchase insurance at the rental desk in order to rent the vehicle.
Insurance can be purchased at the rental desk for an additional charge of:
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) – USD 10 per day
Third-Party Liability (TPL) – USD 10 per day
Excess Reduction
In the event of an accident, Super Collision Damage Waiver (Super CDW)
reduces your excess amount to ZERO.
The price of Super CDW is USD 30 per day for all vehicle groups.
If the renter opts for SCDW a refundable deposit of USD 500 will be held on the credit card.
Super CDW is optional and can be purchased at the rental desk. For more

Driver Age
The minimum driver’s age is 23 years and the
The maximum driver’s age is 75 years.
A young driver surcharge of USD 10 per day will apply for drivers age from 23
years to 25 years.
Driver’s License
Drivers must hold a full and valid license for at
least 2 years with no major endorsements. Also, a valid ID card or passport
would be required at the time of pick up.
Customers from the US, Canada, and Australia can drive on their domestic driving license.
An International Driver’s License (IDL) is mandatory if the renter’s national
driving license is not in the Roman or English alphabet. An international driver's
license must be accompanied by the original domestic license of the driver.
Provisional permissions or unread driver´s license is not accepted.
The following documents are mandatory to present at the time of vehicle pick
up: Passport, Driver's license, and credit card.
Fees
An airport fee of USD 10 will apply.
You are responsible for the cost of any parking fines and other penalties
incurred whilst the vehicle is contracted to you. The rental office will pass
the relevant charges on to you plus any administrative expenses.
Breakdown Assistance
Breakdown assistance is available for an additional charge of USD 5 per
day. It covers tire change, current passage, and crane.
Damage due to the customer's fault is not included and will be charged additionally.
Relevant contact details and roadside assistance procedures will be given
prior to the commencement of the hire.
Fuel Policy
You have to return the vehicle with the same fuel
amount as it was supplied to you at the time of pickup. In case of less fuel
missing fuel will be charged in addition to a refueling fee on your return.
Unused fuel is not refundable. Fuel charges are payable at the rental desk unless otherwise stated. Supplier's fuel policies change from time to time, please confirm at the rental counter.
Please note: Pre-paid fuel option is available at the rental desk.
Mileage Policy
Unlimited
Cross-border travel
Cross-border travel is not allowed.
Tax Rate
Tax is included in the rental price. However, for all the optional extras or special equipment, or extra services, tax would be levied separately.
Payment Methods
Only Master Card, Visa, and AMEX credit cards are accepted and must be in the main renter's name while paying at the rental desk.
Deposit
A refundable deposit varying from USD 1800 to USD 2000 (depending on the vehicle group) will be held from the credit card until the car is returned.
Delivery and collection
Delivery and collection service is available and the charges depend on the
location and distance. Please check at the rental desk for more details.
Out of Hours
Out of hours service is available and the charges are:
USD 50 - applicable from 1 to 2 hours after the closing time.
USD 100 - applicable from 3 to 4 hours after the closing time.
Grace Period
for vehicle pick up:
2 hours grace period is available. After the grace period, an additional day
charge will apply. Vehicle will be provided if available. Otherwise, the
bookings will be canceled.
for vehicle return:
2 hours grace period is available. After the grace period, an additional day
charge will apply.
Extras
Confirmation of Special Equipments depends
upon the availability at the rental desk.
